For Children

Murphy Memorial Library is proud to offer programming events for children.

This year's Summer Reading Programming theme is "Get a Clue at Your Library".  The kick off event for this year will be Saturday, June 9th from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Monona Community Center.  The weekly events are as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 20th:  6:30-7:30 p.m. Crime Solving
  • Wednesday, June 27th:  6:30-7:30 p.m. 4th of July
  • Wednesday, July 11th:  6:30-7:30 p.m. Dinosaurs
  • Wednesday, July 18th:  6:30-7:30 p.m. Pirates

The ending event will be held on Wednesday, July 25th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  Awards will be handed out at this time. 

  • Children can register at the library or at the kick off event.  Frog.jpg
  • Reading minutes will begin June 9th and end on July 18th.
  • Minutes must be turned in to the librarian weekly.
  • No minutes will be accepted past July 18th.
  • Prizes will be awarded on three levels.
  • Weekly participation is encouraged, but not required.
